Our Mission

The LM-HRC exists to uphold the right of all community members to be free from discrimination based on race, color, religion, ethnicity, creed, age, familial status, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, immigration status and disability.

We work in partnership with other local organizations, individuals, and elected officials working to advance the human rights of everyone in our community. 

What We Do

Events and Outreach: We educate ourselves and our communities about the concept of human rights in the 21st century -- both philosophical and legal -- and their relevance to or at the local level.

Reporting: We identify key human rights issues within our communities, promote greater awareness about these issues, and advocate for their resolution.

Advocacy: We organize support for local, regional, and national policies that will improve and protect the human rights of all local residents, employees and visitors.
